I have the Kindle 2 and I love it =)
It has everything the Kindle1 does, except there’s some new features added (obviously). Like there’s a new control button that opens up a whole new array of things you can do much more easily (like browsing is much easier and comfortable). And then there’s a built in dictionary in the Kindle 2, you can look up any word while reading.
Other than that, on a bigger scale, the Kindle 2 has a better, sleekier look and feel, with a new designed keyboard that’s much more user-friendly.
1. Kindle 2 won’t easily slip in hands
2. Kindle 2 has new navigation structure
3. Kindle 2 uses USB cables that are not compatible with K1

I haven’t looked at the links they others gave you, but a few of the key diferences. The K1 is much, much fatter/bigger than the K2, though still relatively small. The K1 has a user replacable battery and SD slot, the K2 does not. The K2 has text-to-speech, the K1 does not. Both shop at the same store. The recent update for native PDF support was only usable on the K2, not the K1 and they may not come up with other updates for the K1, so that may be something to consider.
