At first I was interested because it would be nice to be able to carry around all of my texts on one little device… but then i thought to myself that reading off something electronic won’t ever feel the same as turning the pages and feeling the paper myself. I also am the kind of person who likes to own their books. Does anyone here have kindle? What are your thoughts on it?

I own the Kindle 2, so let me give you some of my opinions.
For the feeling of reading, I think it is a matter of habbit. I like reading and at the beginning I missed a bit on the feeling of reading books. But now I love to hold the Kindle, the e-ink seems to work very well, it is really like reading books… Now I often read with the Kindle for several hours but I don’t feel tired…
I think I’ve read even more than I’ve in the past since I owned the Kindle. I’ve read over 20 books with my Kindle, no glitches so far!
I love my Kindle because it has helped me improve a lot on my efficiency and utilize my time. Before I owned the Kindle, waiting time like when I’m waiting for friends or waiting for shuttle bus or some thing like that is simply wasted. Now I just need to bring the Kindle 2 along with me. Another thing I like the most is the text-to-speech function, which means I can “read” books without even holding or looking at the Kindle. Now I like to use this function when I’ve myself busy on some boring things, say when I’m on the step machine or doing some housework…
For books, Kindle books are cheaper than that of actual books, many new books are sold at $9.99 or below. Amazon also provides quite a lot of free or very cheap books.
Hope it helps.
I have a Kindle and I love it. In fact, I have the first and second generation Kindles.
The ease of being able to buy books at the click of a button, plus having over 300,000 book at my disposal, plus thousand of other free books. Not to mention the text to speech, the idea of having all my books on one simple device. It’s awesome
