Has Your Amazon Kindle Ever Needed To Be Replaced?

I’m extremely interested in getting a Kindle 2 (I’ve never owned an electronic reading device) but I’m worried about how long it will last. I realize that the Kindle 2 is fairly new, and nobody has probably had it long enough for it to fail on them, yet, but what about the Kindle 1? I’ve heard that once they fail, you have to pay practically full price to replace it, and often they don’t last for much more than a year. If you have a Kindle (any generation) what has your experience been? What are you happy with, and unhappy with?

Your Thoughts On Amazon’s Kindle?

Hello! I am considering asking for a Amazon’s Kindle reading device as a Christmas present, and was hoping to get some feedback on it. If you have one,

how do you like it?
What additional functions do you use it for besides reading?
Can you still browse the internet on it?
Do you feel like the cost of the books is a good value?
Is the screen in color? Does it feel durable, or light and flimsy?
And, if you’ve ever had problems with it, does Amazon repair or replace?

Sorry for all the questions! I was just really hoping to get some feedback from real folks off the Amazon site. Thank you!
