I asked a question earlier about an IREADER which wasn’t what i meant, i actually have A portable reading device…. can i still download Amazon books?
My PRD is pretty much a Kindle just a different brand…

I’m sorry but no. Amazon ebooks have DRM. They are protected and can be read only on a few devices.
But of course, reading ebooks with the Amazon Kindle is the best, because the screen and control are all designed for reading the ebooks. There are two models of Kindle right now.
No, you can only use a Kindle to read Amazon’s books (at least most of them — there may be some odd ones you could but they’d be the exception, not the rule).
Why would you not buy a Kindle? The price is about the same among them all especially since the Kindle has come down in price twice this year. With the Kindle, you can download books for free. You can also surf the Internet (albeit some sites are a tad abbreviated) for FREE. There is no cost. The only cost is if you email items such as PDFs to your Kindle directly. If you send them to your free account and download via USB, it’s FREE. No other device allows you to surf the internet for anything other than their own sites for FREE. The Kindle is really the way to go. There are TONS of resources for free books and they are constantly giving books away free to interest you in new authors. Kindle rocks.
