I love this

I ordered this from M-edge and just recently received it and I LOVE it. The book smells like high quality leather and has a nice smooth, soft surface. Because it is real leather, I am sure that it will just get broken in and better with time. I like that it has hooks on the left hand side, just like the Amazon cover, but it also has the closure strap to keep it secure. I kept my Kindle at home before I received the cover, but now I take it everywhere with me. It fits perfectly in the center pocket of my purse and I now have my library with me at all times without the worry of damaging my investment. I would highly recommend getting this.
A great Kindle 2 case!

Just received this cover today (in purple, but same model), about 3 weeks after ordering from Amazon. Granted, it was ordered before the product was even complete so I was ok with the wait. It is very similar in look and feel to a Dooney and Bourke pocketbook if you are familiar with them. It has a great leather smell, just like a new purse. And the additional room on the binder side (meant for the e-Luminator light - sold separately) gives you a nice place to hold the cover with the Kindle attached.

I love the hinge system, one of the main reasons I bought it. Coming from the K1, the original case Amazon provided was functional but the Kindle always fell out. So when Amazon improved the hinge for the K2, I knew I would only buy a case that had that feature. One word of note, I initially did not "lock" the K2 in the new m-edge case correctly and it almost fell out when I shook it (over a sofa) to test the support. Luckily the two straps on the top right and bottom right held it from falling. Then I discovered I had not closed the hinge enough and made sure the top hinge was securely pushed upwards to "lock it". Installation instructions are not included with the case (weird) but are available from m-edge online. Amazon won't let me post the url, but if you go to the buymedge website you can view the installation intructions.

The look and feel of the case is very professional. I am very happy with this purchase and do not expect to be taking the Kindle out of it very often. The only little issue I have is that the tab is a bit too snug when it needs to be slid into the cover to close. A snap might have been a bit easier. Still not enough of a con to drop the rating. But the tab does tuck away easily so as not to interfere while reading, which is nice.
Awesome Cover

I have two toddlers, and so protecting my Kindle was a priority. Plus, I didn't really like holding it all by itself. This cover is a beautiful, rich red with a soft, supple leather feel inside and out. I find myself rubbing the soft sued interior while I read! As others have said, it smells great (like a favorite leather jacket) and the Kindle is VERY secure with the clips and the elasticized corners. The extra space on the left that has concerned some users really isn't a big deal - in fact, I think it makes it easier to bend it all the way back. At first, I was concerned about the tab that secures the cover closed because it seemed to get in the way of the screen (it is not velcro, but instead, it slides into the sleeve on the front. It can also slide into the same sleeve if you have the cover folded all the way back, which gets it out of the way of reading. There are pockets on the left side that could be used for business cards, I suppose, though I'm not sure when I'd ever use them. I'm really anxious for the M-Edge booklight to become available, because it will fit perfectly in my cover, and there are definitely times I want to read in the dark! Anyway, I can highly recommend this cover. Be sure to notice that the Prodigy is the one that opens like a book - I almost bought the jade green cover they make, but that flips open at the top, not the side. Since propping my Kindle up on a table wasn't a priority, I wanted my cover to feel as much like a book as possible.

ETA: I still love this cover, but here's something to be aware of. The clips that go into the Kindle 2 on the side are sturdy but they DO bend. My 9-year-old was reading on my Kindle (a special treat) and while he read, he disengaged the elastic corners and was bending the unit back and forth in the cover. The metal clips bent and when he pressed the Kindle back down, the metal clip caused a stress fracture in the casing of the Kindle. I was not happy (with him, not the case!) Subsequently, my 3-year-old was messing with my Kindle 2 and he snapped off the top metal clip (fortunately not further injuring my Kindle). Even so, the bottom clip and the elastics hold the Kindle in very well, so I won't be buying another for now. If I were to buy another though, I'd still buy this exact case. It's not M-Edge's fault that I'm raising three destructive boys. Anyway, just be aware that you CAN bend the clips, and it CAN cause damage to your Kindle (just not under normal use!)

ETA (again) - Well, once again with the toddlers - they bent the cover again, and this time, rather than damaging the Kindle (whew), it snapped off the metal tab on the case. So now I'm faced with a choice: leave it as it is, not as secure, but still okay, or buy a new case. The case is a little pricey to replace it this quickly, so I'm going to make do. Basically, if you have toddlers, (or inquisitive 9-year-olds) find a very high shelf, put a lockable chest on it, lock the Kindle inside, electrify it, and equip it with a motion-sensitive alarm. J/K. I still stand behind this product - just not sure how I feel about the kiddos!

I have used my M-Edge Prodigy Hinge Jacket for the past 2 months and it looks brand new. The outside of the jacket is made out of an excellent grade, heavy-duty leather that covers a hard case; the inside is made out of soft felt. I love the marbled red color. My Kindle2 fits snugly inside the jacket with no chance of slipping or falling out. The best feature of this jacket is that I can make a miniature, portable easel to hold my Kindle2 while I'm reading - just fold back the front cover and insert the leather tab "backwards" into the closure slot. This jacket - from the attractive, heavy-duty, leather cover, to the tight stitching, to the close fitting bands, to the well-designed, tab closure - is a quality product. This jacket offers great, stylish protection for my Kindle2 and should last for years to come - it is worth every penny.
Excellent!

I just got this today and I'm very pleased. I was worried that the cover would add a lot of bulk to the Kindle, but it's actually very thin and light. The quality is great and, with the hooks on the side, my Kindle sits very snugly and safely inside. I also like that the cover folds back on itself to make it easier to hold. I, too, have not taken my Kindle out because I had no cover for it. Now, I'm very excited about now being able to take it out and show it off.
