Kindle 2 Users: Should I Get A Kindle 2?

My job requires that i read more books than i am used to, however i have trouble reading. My ADD causes my mind to wander off while my eyes keep reading. I was thinking that the text to speech feature on the Kindle 2 might help me out. If i have the book read to me as i read along i might zone out less.

I also like the idea of being able to read longer books without having to support some huge tome in my hands.

Kindle 2 owners, how do you like yours? Is the text to speech feature any good? Do you think i could benefit from this device?

Amazon’s Kindle In The Navy?

Been thinking of getting the Kindle. I will be joining the US Navy in 4-6 months. Trying to weigh the pros and cons of getting it, and if it’s worth it. From what I’ve read I can’t get wireless while on the sea or other countries but I expected that. I figure I can download a bunch of books before I every ship out to sea. And in other countries I can use my laptop to download books onto the device.

For the most part what I want to know is your opinions of getting it. I love reading but I don’t do it as much as I want/should.

Opinions On “the Kindle”?

The Kindle is a type of device that carries books, magazines, etc. of what you read. If you own one, then tell me your opinions on it. Weather you like it or not, its pros and cons. Thanks!

Couple Of Questions For Amazon Kindle Owners.?

Hello, I was thinking of purchasing an Amazon Kindle and I have just a few questions if anyone could help out.

1) Do you know if Amazon will be adding more magazines or newspapers to the Kindle store?
2) Is the Kindle really easier to read than a book? Is there any bad angles for viewing?
3) Is the text to speech option for books easy to understand? How many books have this option?
4) Also do magazines or news papers have the option of text to speech?

Thanks for any help you can offer. The kindle 2 seems to be a very neat, useful device.

Do You, Or Have You Ever Owned A Kindle 2?

I was thinking of purchasing a Kindle 2, but after reading reviews I am begining to have my doubts. Some people claim that after 12 months (the warranty limit) that their kindles just died. Like, the screen went black. Supposbly this is suppose to be a defect, and according to the purchasers, amazon isn’t taking care of it.

So, what I am wondering is is if anyone else has came across similar issues, or if these complains are truly from careless users rather then the so called defects of the device. Please, feel free to tell me about your “good times” with kindle 2 as well. I just basically want to hear about kindle 2 users. So, tell me anything you want! Oh, but be sure to tell me how long you have had it. ;)

Is The Amazon Kindle Worth The Price?

I’ve always been an avid reader carrying around one or more books for recreational reading but know starting college full-time with all my text books adding the weight of another book is over kill when I already have back problems but I’m hesitant as to if it’s worth the $259. Is it easily broken or damaged or are there common malfunctions with device that make it ridiculously priced?

Which Digital Book (amazon Kindle Or Sony Reader) Has A Larger Selection Of Classic Literature?

I’m an English major in my Junior year, and it’s really starting to dawn on me how little reading I do. I want to have access to a lot of classic prose and poetry, but I haven’t been able to tell by looking around the internet which device/digital store offers a larger selection.
