I’m not looking to spend alot of money, i’m reading alot about the kindle brand not being much good, anyone got a ebook reader they are really happy with? thanx

The best one in my opinion is Sony Reader PRS-505. It has non-glare screen and has added LEDs around the frame so more easy to read at night.
My dad has a kindle and he LOVES it. He was really against e-readers because both he and I like the look and feel of paper books, but the kindle is just so convenient. It’s really slim, the user interface is good, it’s easy to read, and the selection of books for it is great. It’s also often cheaper to buy books for the kindle than to buy them in paper form. And you can get subscriptions to newspapers too.
The downside is that is isn’t backlit, so while its not straining on your eyes, you can’t read in the dark. Also its certainly not cheap, but if you’re a traveler or commute to work or something then its really convenient.
Do you need a back-lit display? The reason I ask is they are quite hungry for power. The e-ink display does not use power while you read, only when the display changes. The Sony e_reader’s battery will last weeks, of reading. A back-lit display will give a few hours!
The good thing about the E_ink displays, is that they are not fussy where the light comes from, unlike LCDs. Also the e_ink display is fine under full sunlight, back-lit displays can not be seen.
The Kindle is in fact the best rated ebook device available. However, because of this, it is also quite expensive.
If you are looking for a good quality and lower cost reader, you should take a look at the Sony Reader. It has great reviews.
